In response to this, The Department of Health (DOH) and Don Jose S. Monfort Medical Center (DJSMMC) pushed this Psychological First Aid (PFA) training for the University Student Council, Peer Facilitators, and selected Student Publication members, Local Council officers and Freshmen that will cover the overall 50 participants from Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST) Main Campus-Tiwi Site. The training, which aligns with RA 11036 or the Mental Health Act, particularly Section 24 on Mental Health Promotion in Educational Institutions, on September 6, 2024, at Ina Farmers Learning Site.
Student leaders often play a pivotal role in supporting their peers, and by equipping them with PFA skills, the initiative aims to enhance their ability to provide immediate and effective support to fellow students facing psychological distress.
