Key orientation highlights included an introduction of participants, a briefing on CMO 10 s 2023, a discussion of internship requirements, an overview of the application process, an online consultation, a Q&A session, and a group photo ops.
Select students enrolled in this program at BN and Dumangas campuses had the unique opportunity to intern at a prestigious hotel in the “City of Angels.” Selection will be based on interviews and resume evaluations by the hotel management, and the internship will last for six months, starting in the middle of the year.
Dr. Herman Lagon, Director of the Institute of Advancement and Linkages (IOAL), served as the facilitator for the event. University President Dean Ricardo Paborada, Jr. expressed his full support for the internationalization initiative, emphasizing the importance of students gaining global competitiveness.
Dr. Joan Belga, Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized the significance of students representing themselves, their families, their institution, and their country with decorum, competence, dedication, and professionalism during their internships abroad.
The orientation was jointly organized by the Office of the Dean of the College of Management of the BN Campus and the Office of International Affairs and Linkages (OIAL). Core campus chairpersons, coordinators, and OIAL staff also attended the orientation.
To note, the SIAP and orientation aim to provide tertiary students with practical knowledge, skills, and desirable attitudes in recognized foreign organizations, enhance their work values and competencies in multicultural settings, promote global competitiveness through international exposure, strengthen degree programs to prepare students for a competitive world and ensure the protection and well-being of students during their internships abroad. It was halted during the pandemic but allowed to continue this year.
