Celebrating CHED’s 30th anniversary, this year’s theme, ‘Access, Quality, and Competitiveness at the Core of Higher Education Reforms,’ highlights the commitment to enhancing educational standards and accessibility in the Philippines. Held at the PICC, Pasay City, the summit features President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and CHED Commissioner Prof Popoy De Vera, underscoring the vital role of higher education in national development and global competitiveness.

ISUFST REPRESENT. Four faculty members of ISUFST—namely Dr. Jescel Bito-onon, Prof. Rico Ian To-ong, Dr. Mary Mar Noblezada-Payne, and Dr. Herman Lagon—join over 100 participants from the academe in Regions 6-8 at the Visayas-wide Symposium-Workshop on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Now being held at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel in Iloilo City (April 24-25, 2024), the event focuses on mobilizing universities and colleges for SDG problem-solving at local and regional levels. Together, the participants delve into SDG challenges and best practices, aiming to translate these insights into actionable initiatives within their respective communities. The symposium also features distinguished speakers such as DOST VI Regional Director Engr. Rowen Geonanga and NEDA VI Regional Director Engr. Arecio Casing, Jr., who are also members of the ISUFST Board of Regents. Hosted by Future Earth Philippines, DOST, NAST, and UNIID-SEA, this two-day event serves as a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing towards sustainable development goals.
