A Salute to Grit, Growth, and the ISUFST Spirit

As this school year ends, I speak not above you, but with you. It has been a tough stretch demanding patience, strength, and quiet grit. Yet here we are, still standing. And that already says so much. It has not been an easy journey. In fact, for many, it has been one of the toughest yet. But you made it. We made it. And that, in itself, is worth pausing for.

To our students you who walked under the punishing sun, stretched every peso, pulled all-nighters, and still found the strength to show up I see you. Thank you. You could have stepped back, but instead, you leaned in. Even when the deadlines piled up, even when the pressure outside the classroom weighed just as much as what was inside it, you kept going. That takes more than just grit; it takes heart.

To our teachers, staff, administrators, and partners you held the line. You carried the load no one saw. You showed up every day for your students and your colleagues, doing your part even when the path was unclear or the weight overwhelming. Your quiet, consistent effort is the backbone of this university.

We had our wins, too. Together, we pulled off the 2024 Regional SCUAA showing the best of ISUFST to the region. We watched new buildings rise and programs flourish. We welcomed new faculty who bring new ideas and fresh energy. We passed requirements, complied with regulations, and opened our classrooms to richer learning and broader perspectives. We brought home trophies and recognition, not just for competing, but for daring to represent something bigger than ourselves.

Behind all these is not just motion, but meaning. Our values Integrity, Social Justice, Discipline, and Academic Excellence are not just framed on walls. They live in the way we speak, in the choices we make, in how we treat one another. And I have seen them, in big gestures and quiet moments, all year long.

To the graduates: you are proof that effort and heart go a long way. As you take your next steps, carry what ISUFST taught you not just in your minds, but in your choices. Let your story give others hope.

To those who will be back next year: breathe. Take this break to rest and find your center. Then come back with your feet steadier, your purpose clearer.

And to every member of this community faculty, admin, staff, partners thank you for the work no one claps for but everyone relies on. Thank you truly.

We may have walked different paths, faced different struggles, and chased different goals, but this year, we moved forward side by side. That means something. That means everything.

Mabuhay ang ISUFST. May we carry the lessons of this year into the next—with open hearts, steady steps, and quiet hope.
